The Dive Shop Aquatic Center Reopens for Business

IMG_1843 (2)Like so many local business owners hit hard by the pandemic, Gary Gordon – owner of The Dive Shop Aquatic Center – is beyond relieved to be open for business once again.

“Opening the doors on Wednesday was a tremendous relief for me. I’m so glad to see that many of our members are slowly coming back and, so far, it’s a slow-steady flow of activity,” said Gary.

Lap swimmers, like myself, are welcomed and delighted to be back. Never again, will we take for granted how this local swimming and scuba diving facility will always be accessible for a workout or dive in the pool.

To be expected, there are a lot of changes with Phase 2 of the State’s reopening plan.

The Dive Shop Aquatic center encourages children to swim with their parents in a lap lane when the facility is open. There are no restrictions or time limits.

An insider tip for swimmers: Call ahead and plan your swim during non-peak hours, like after the early morning rush. This way, social distancing can be maintained.

The Dive Shop’s jetted therapy pool can also be used by those needing to do physical therapy exercises or just wanting to relax in the warm water to get a deep tissue massage. However, its limited to four people at one time, for social distancing.
