Area Author Publishes SEO Tutorial to Help Small Businesses

FromRankingToRevenuebyJasonHealey Jason Healey, who has become a nationally renowned master of steering web traffic to business clients, has released a book to teach what he practices to readers.

“From Ranking to Revenue – A Business Owner’s Guide to Successful Search Engine Optimization” is on shelves now.

A Connecticut native and Bethlehem resident, Healey is the founding president of J2H Digital, an internet marketing services company that specializes in optimizing web searches.

He is on a mission to teach companies how to rank high in Google searches without paying a penny for lead generation.

“Instead of having to pay for advertising, you can do it yourself and drive consistent leads to your business if you know how to do SEO optimization,” said Healey.

His how-to guide is meant for any small to medium-sized business, new to the world of SEO, that needs to generate online leads for selling higher-priced products or service offerings.

In direct, easy-to-understand language, with a conversational sense of humor, Healey walks his readers through a step-by-step process on what SEO is and how to “organically” – for free – get their companies ranked high on the coveted first page in Google search results.

He also includes best practices for tracking and monitoring, offers mobile technology advice, provides do-it-yourself versus hiring questions to ponder, and helps troubleshoot an SEO campaign if it’s not returning optimal results.

Healey-3295-6x4As a business owner, he has personally experienced success using Google as the number one way to generate leads for himself and his clients.

“When it comes to website ranking, there are over 200 factors that go into the Google ranking formula. You must try to hit all those elements when you perform SEO. It’s all about optimization and authority in the world of Google,” he said.

Throughout Healey’s 20-year professional career, he has helped more than 100 companies with their SEO optimization needs, and their success stories are the premise of his new book.

Healey thinks of SEO optimization as a game of strategy and loves finding creative ways to get his clients to show up on the first pages of Google.

Joan Tiganella, owner of Elegant Windows in Middlebury is a client.

“Jason redesigned my website and made it Google friendly,” she said. “Not only is my new site more user-friendly, but he has helped my business become more visible in the search engines. Website traffic from search engines has increased substantially since the optimization.”

Healey’s local clients are lawyers, plumbers, roofers, chiropractors and dentists from Bristol, Litchfield, Southbury, Waterbury and Watertown.

He also works with national companies that are primarily in the tech industry. Many of his clients are based out of Farmington Valley, New York City, Boston and Chicago, and they mainly sell “Software as a Service” (SaaS) to small businesses.

In Healey’s earlier career, he was a business-to-business (B2B) sales professional for 15 years and he worked for large corporations, like Oracle, along with several startups.

While working at Intronis, a technology company, he was promoted to vice president of east coast sales and ran a sales department. “I was responsible for driving leads for the sales guys. I found that the Google organic search results were incredible,” he said.

This was Healey’s defining moment. In 2012, he switched career paths and became an Online Certified Marketing Professional. He also received certification from Duke University for Digital Media and Marketing.

Why he focuses only on Google, as opposed to other search engines like Yahoo and Bing, “Google owns 90% of the market share, so I’ll stick with that,” he said.

He added, “Google is the greatest invention in the 21st Century. There are so many things you can do with their search engine. It’s boundless what inventions they can come up with to make the world a better place.”

“From Ranking to Revenue – A Business Owner’s Guide to Successful Search Engine Optimization” is available on Amazon.com, $19.94 for the paperback edition and $3.49 for the Kindle version.

Already, Healey is tailoring his book to be industry specific. He plans to release a second printing June 15 specialized for lawyers and law firms.

Healey will be speaking with business groups about his new book.

He will also offer workshops “to help businesses to be more confident to go out and perform internet marketing on their own or feel confident in investing in internet marketing, in general.”

“SEO and Google have allowed small businesses to level the playing field against bigger competitors and not take advantage. There’s so much upside to take advantage of this free advertising that’s now available.” – Jason Healey
